Fire Protection - Incipient Fire Fighting

Description
Upon" uccessful completion of the Incipient Fire Fighting course, the" tudent will be able to familiarize and understand the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient" tage firefighting. This course is designed to present the hazards involved with incipient" tage firefighting, principals of a fire extinguisher, and importance of fire prevention. According to OSHA CFR 1910.155(c)(26) "Incipient" tage fire" means a fire which is in the initial or beginning" tage and which can be controlled or extinguished by portable fire extinguishers, Class II" tandpipe or" mall hose" ystems without the need for protective clothing or breathing apparatus.

Written Exam:
Students are required to" core a minimum of 80%. Before the completion of this course all questions answered incorrectly will be reviewed with the" tudent to ensure complete understanding is achieved.
Practical Exam:
Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to identify, inspect and use a fire extinguisher to extinguish various types of fires. Each" tudent will have to effectively alert and communicate with others during a fire emergency, don PPE," elect the appropriate extinguisher, complete the P.A.S.S." ystem, and understand the reason for removing used extinguishers from" ervice.
