Program Distinction

This is an in-person course (not online) designed specifically for workplace and fleet vehicle safety — employees are the focus.

It is not a state-certified traffic school course for insurance discounts, point reduction, or court-ordered driver improvement requirements.

Instead, this program focuses on employer risk reduction, incident prevention, and strengthening organizational safety culture related to vehicle operations.

Employers maintain responsibility for evaluating driver competency and implementing internal fleet safety policies.

Target Audience

This course is ideal for company vehicle operators, fleet drivers, field technicians, supervisors operating company vehicles, and employees who drive as part of their job duties in construction, oil and gas, utilities, transportation, and service industries.

Duration

The training lasts two to four hours (depending on class size) and includes classroom instruction with scenario-based discussion plus practical application (yes there will be a driving portion).

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, Students will receive a Defensive Driving Course Certificate that contains the name of the participant, the date of training, and the identity of the person(s) performing the training.

The certificate of completion is available for review by employees and their authorized representatives within the students Training Passport.

Training Passport is a digital Training history of a person's Training Records.

Prerequisites

  1. Participants must possess a valid driver's license.
  2. Employees are required to have employer approval.

Regulatory & Employer Responsibility

Employers are responsible for providing a workplace free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees.
