First Aid, CPR, + AED Training Course


Course Overview


The First Aid, CPR + AED Training is a critical program designed for employees who may be required to respond to workplace medical emergencies.


This includes general workers, supervisors, and designated responders responsible for safety and emergency care.


Accurate Safety Compliance has developed this course in alignment with the latest OSHA requirements for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillators.


Participants will gain essential knowledge and hands-on skills in CPR for adults; AED operation; first aid techniques for injuries and sudden illnesses; choking response; and emergency scene management.


Course Objectives


By the end of this course, students will be able to:


  • Perform high-quality CPR for adults.
  • Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively.
  • Recognize and respond to choking emergencies.
  • Provide first aid care for bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, and sudden illnesses.
  • Identify scene hazards and take appropriate safety precautions.
  • Demonstrate proper emergency response until professional medical personnel arrive.
  • Understand legal protections, Good Samaritan laws, and workplace responder responsibilities.


Purpose


The purpose of this course is to ensure workers can:


  • Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Deliver CPR and AED intervention to increase survival rates during cardiac arrest.
  • Provide immediate first aid to stabilize injured or ill individuals.
  • Promote a safer workplace by preparing employees to act in life-threatening situations.
  • Support regulatory compliance and strengthen workplace safety culture.


This training is designed not only to meet compliance standards but also to build confidence and readiness among employees in handling emergencies.


Target Audience


This First Aid, CPR + AED course is intended for:


  • General employees across industries.
  • Supervisors, managers, and safety coordinators.
  • Designated workplace responders.
  • Safety committee members and team leads.


This is an instructor-led classroom course, supplemented with demonstrations, case studies, and scenario-based skill practice.


Duration


The training typically lasts 2–4 hours and includes a combination of lecture, multimedia presentations, hands-on skills practice, and knowledge checks.


Certification


Upon successful completion, students will receive a nationally recognized First Aid/CPR/AED Certification. The certificate includes the employee’s name, the trainer’s signature, and the training date.


Certification is valid for two years, or as required by company policy.


Certificates are stored digitally in each student’s Training Passport, providing a verifiable record of training for compliance and auditing.


This course meets the requirements of OSHA workplace first aid guidelines and training standards.


Evaluation


Students will be evaluated through:


  • Participation in class discussions and demonstrations.
  • Scenario-based exercises and hands-on practice.
  • A final written knowledge check and practical skills assessment requiring successful demonstration of CPR and AED use.


Prerequisites


No prior CPR or First Aid certification is required.


Previous experience with workplace safety or emergency response is helpful but not necessary.
