Gas Detection Training


Course Overview:


Gas Detection Safety Training provides essential knowledge and hands-on skills for identifying, monitoring, and responding to hazardous gas environments.


Participants will learn about different types of gas hazards, how to properly use and maintain gas detection equipment, interpret monitor readings, and apply critical safety protocols. The training includes regulatory guidelines, real-world scenarios, and practical exercises to ensure both compliance and safety in the workplace.


Course Objectives


By the end of this training, participants will be able to:


  • Understand the types and hazards of various gases.
  • Identify common gas detection equipment and its uses.
  • Properly use, calibrate, and maintain gas detection instruments.
  • Interpret gas monitor readings accurately.
  • Apply safe work practices when gas hazards are present.


Duration:


The training typically lasts 1-2 hours and includes a combination of classroom instruction with powerpoint, lecture, group tabletop exercise, student participation, videos and practical, hands-on exercises.


Certification:


Upon successful completion of the course, Students will receive a Gas Detection Certification, that contains each employee's name, the signature of the Trainer, and the dates of Training, valid for one year.


The certificate of completion is available for review by employees and their authorized representatives with the students Training Passport.


Training Passport is a digital Training history of a person's Training Records.


This course meets the requirements of the OSHA 1910 Subpart I Personal Protective Equipment 1910.132 General Requirements.


Prerequisites:


No prior experience is required.
