Designated Rescuer Training


Course Overview:


The Accurate Safety Compliance Designated Rescuer Course is a specialized training program designed to prepare workers to effectively respond to emergencies in hazardous environments such as IDLH H2S Environments or Permit-Required Confined Spaces.


This course focuses on the knowledge and skills required for safe rescue operations, ensuring that Designated Rescuers can act quickly and effectively with confidence in high-stress situations.


Students will learn rescue techniques, equipment use, and emergency protocols essential for safeguarding the lives of individuals in need.


Course Objectives:


  • Understand the role and responsibilities of Designated Rescuers in emergency situations.
  • Designate and train employees to assist in a safe and orderly evacuation of other employees.
  • Identify the various types of hazardous environments and the risks associated with rescue operations.
  • Learn the fundamentals of rescue planning and coordination with emergency services.
  • Master the use of rescue equipment, including breathing apparatuses, harnesses, ropes, and retrieval devices.
  • Utilize Respiratory Protection equipment such as Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Supplied Air Respirators (SAR), Emergency Escape Breathing Apparatus (EEBA) and more.
  • Develop effective communication strategies for coordinating rescues.
  • Train affected employees by practicing making either permit space rescues with assigned duties or IDLH Environment Rescues by means of simulated rescue operations in which they remove a Rescue Randy manikin from actual permit spaces or representative permit spaces and IDLH Environments.
  • Study Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH) Environments.
  • Hands-On Training with Gas Detection Single Gas and Multi-Gas Monitors.


Included in this Course:


  • Gas Detection Training.
  • Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training.
  • Respiratory Protection Training with Medical Evaluation and Respiratory Fit Testing.


Duration:


The course typically spans one to two days, combining classroom instruction with practical exercises.


Certification:


Upon successful completion of the course, Students will receive a Designated Rescuer Certification, that contain each employee's name, the signature of the Trainer, and the dates of Training, valid for one year.


The certificate of completion is available for review by employees and their authorized representatives with the students Training Passport.


Training Passport is a digital Training history of a person's Training Records.


Prerequisites:


Employer designates Employees to the rescue team.


H2S Passport Certification and Confined Space Certification Permit-Required recommended but not required.
